Mahendra Singh Dhoni, turns 34 today, and even though, birthdays are indeed special occasions, this one would be a lot more special for Mahi, as his biggest gift came earlier in 2015 when wife Sakshi gave birth to their first child – Ziva – on February 6.
Such are the rigours of the life of an Indian cricket captain that the sportsperson himself was not present during birth due to the World Cup being just a week away.
At the time, an elated Dhoni said that country will always come first for him. Since however, he has more than made up for the lost time and has been seen with his bundle of joy on countless occasions – mostly clutching her close to his chest.
Here’s wishing India’s ‘Captain Cool’ a happy birthday and a well-earned break with his daughter – far from the competitive world of international cricket.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born in Ranchi on July 7, 1981. Dhoni was a Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) with the Indian Railways
Dhoni made his Ranji Trophy debut for Bihar in 1999-2000 as an 18-year-old.
Dhoni’s international debut was in a ODI game against Bangladesh on December 23, 2004. His Test debut was against Sri Lanka on December 2, 2005
Dhoni was appointed as India captain in 2007 for the ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa. India won World T20 in 2007 under his captaincy. Under Dhoni’s leadership, India became the number one Test side in ICC Rankings in December 2009
